Rouxinol (nightingale) Café Restaurant is situated on the way to Monchique in an old, lovely, hunting lodge, which has been renovated recently by owner/chef Stefhan. Having spent a big part of his life owning restaurants in colourful places such as the Caribbean, West Africa, Morocco and the Canary Islands, he brought with him a wealth of experience in the sense of flavours, blends and tastes.

The ambience is warm and cosy with a massive fireplace glowing in winter and fresh terraces for the balmy summer days. The fish and shellfish stew is a firm favourite, so is the Alentejo grilled lamb and not to forget the warm raspberry pie with ice cream. The Restaurant serves wine of the week in the form of good house wines in order for its guests to try a new house wine every week. A lovely restaurant to dine out in style or to enjoy a light pub lunch or afternoon tea - a real gem.
